RENO, NV - Power was fully restored to 12,000 NV Energy customers shortly after ten o'clock Thursday night.
At 7:35 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013, lightning struck the Valley Road Substation, causing power to go dark for customers in Panther Valley, Golden Valley, the north rim of Reno, and parts of Sun Valley.
NV Energy crews worked to restore power, and by 9:30pm all but 150 customers had their lights back on. A short time later, at 10:05pm, the remaining customers' power was restored.
