UPDATE: NV Energy tells KOLO 8 News Now that the power in all affected areas has been restored. What caused the outage is still unknown, but workers were able to get the substation up and running.
RENO, Nev. An unknown problem at the Glendale Substation leave 1,000 people in parts of east Reno and Sparks without power.
A representative from NV Energy tells KOLO 8 News Now that the problem began around 5:50 Saturday evening.
The power outage affects homes and businesses near Kietzke Lane, Vasser Street, Yori Avenue, Harvard Way and the Sparks industrial area.
NV Energy says they don't known when power will be restored, but they are working on the problem. They may consider switching some circuits soon to restore power to the affected areas.
