RENO - Police are maintaining a strong presence during the final day of a downtown street festival following the killing of the president of the San Jose chapter of the Hell's Angels.

Reno spokesman Chris Good says police are coordinating with
state and federal officials to prevent further violence at a major
biker festival.

San Jose chapter president Jeffrey Pettigrew was shot Friday night in Sparks, Nev., during a shootout with members of the Vagos club at John Ascuaga's Nugget. Two Vagos members were also wounded
in the fight.

Sparks Mayor Geno Martini canceled the city's share of the festival's events for Saturday and Sunday.

He also declared a formal state of emergency in the city that he says will help speed state assistance if there's any more trouble.
