Man Found Likely Strangled to Death in Sparks Apartment ID'D

SPARKS, NV - Sparks police say a man found strangled to death in a Sparks apartment has been identified and the man caught driving his car is charged with murder.

Gregory Mathis, 54, was found dead in his apartment on Sparks Boulevard October 9. His car was missing, and it was found being driven by 38-year-old Michael Giesbrecht of Sparks in West Wendover.

Giesbrecht is a fugitive from justice from Idaho, and he's charged with being in possession of a stolen vehicle and now murder.

Tuesday, an autopsy revealed a preliminary cause of death of strangulation.
