Sparks Police Looking for Suspect in Beating, Trapping Woman

SPARKS, NV - Sparks police are on the hunt for a man suspected of beating and strangling a woman and holding her hostage Sunday.

According to police, 28-year-old Darren Lachance fled from 6717 Rolling Meadows Dr. #1917 after police were called in by a person who that found a badly beaten woman in the apartment parking lot.

The victim was strangled to the point of feeling her life was in jeopardy. She told police she was being falsely imprisoned in the bedroom of the apartment but was finally able to escape and run into the parking lot.

Lachance fled the scene in a 2007 Red Toyota Camry four-door with Nevada plates TAT2DQN.

The public is encouraged to call the Sparks Police Department at 775-353-2231 if the whereabouts of Lachance are known, or remain anonymous by calling Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
