SPARKS, NV - Sparks police are still trying to piece together the details of an apparent stabbing that happened Sunday.
The victim tells police she was walking along Victorian Avenue just west of Pyramid between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. when she was attacked by a Hispanic male she doesn't know. She gave police no further description of the attacker, who then ran off. After the alleged attack, she called a relative for a ride home from the area. Due to the severe nature of her injuries, the relative stopped at a DUI checkpoint being held on Pyramid Highway and called police.
The victim was transported to Renown Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. Police say she is expected to recover.
