RENO, Nev. - A bicyclist in his 50s suffered minor injuries after being hit by a van Saturday evening.
The Reno Police Department's Major Accidents Investigation Team is investigating the accident which happened in the intersection of Plumb Lane and Harvard Way.
Police tell KOLO 8 News Now that the bicyclist was heading north in a crosswalk on Plumb Lane when the van, turning west onto Plumb Lane, struck him.
The accident happened around 7:30 Saturday evening. Westbound lanes of Plumb Lane were shut down for a time. Police later opened one westbound lane for traffic.
The bicyclist was transported to Renown. Police say his injuries appear to be minor.
The driver of the van, a woman in her 30s, was uninjured and is cooperating with investigators. Police say speed and alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
They are currently investigation who is at fault. Witnesses tell police the lights were in the process of changing when the accident occurred.
