VERDI, Nev. (AP) - A 24-hour truck stop with a casino may be returning to a spot along Interstate 80 just west of Reno near the Boomtown Casino and Hotel.

The truck stop that had been there for years was demolished in 2007 to make way for the construction of Cabela's.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports PNK Reno LLC, a subsidiary of Pinnacle Entertainment, intends to make an application with the city planning commission next week for the proposed Pilot Flying J truck stop with a casino and McDonald's.

The application says the project would be completed by next spring. It would create 120 jobs and attract an estimated 3,600 visits a day.

PNK owns about 125 acres directly west and north of Cabela's, including the 14 acres for the proposed truck stop.
