RENO, NV - The Pink Tie Gala comes to Reno once again to raise money for breast cancer prevention and awareness efforts.

The Northern Nevada Susan G. Komen Affiliate is hosting The Pink Tie Gala, a fundraising dinner with several auctions on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at The Grove, located at 95 Foothill Road.

The Pink Tie Gala is honoring Bobbi Gillis, a former breast nurse navigator at Renown and self-diagnosed "treatment buddy" to women diagnosed with breast cancer, according to an official with Susan G. Komen Northern Nevada.

According to officials, Gillis will receive the 2014 Diane Wyness Award.

Individual tickets can be purchased for $125 per seat. Discounted tickets are available for breast cancer survivors for $100. Tables of 10 may also be purchased for a discount of $100 per seat, according to the official.

The official says seventy-five percent of the money raised from these and other auction items and ticket sales will support breast cancer prevention and awareness efforts in Northern Nevada and a portion of Northern California. The affiliate contributes the remaining twenty-five percent of net funds to national breast cancer research.
