RENO, Nev. (AP) - Reno police say the parents are cooperating in an unusual investigation of the death of a baby who was declared dead twice last week.
The 8-month old girl was sent to the county morgue after she was declared dead at a Reno hospital on Thursday. But the medical examiner says the infant showed signs of life during intake so they rushed her back to the hospital where she was declared dead again about four hours later.
Authorities aren't sure if she actually was revived after death, or only exhibited signs of life prompting a precautionary response.
Reno Police Lt. William Rulla won't say what caused the parents to seek emergency treatment for the child. But he confirms investigators have examined their home and that they are cooperating in the probe.
