CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - A Reno assemblyman wants to make interim legislative committees subject to Nevada's open meeting law.
Assemblyman Pat Hickey says he's requested a bill draft request for the issue to be considered by the 2013 Legislature.
The Legislature is exempt from the state's open meeting law during regular sessions held every two years.
The Reno Republican says it's difficult for lawmakers to follow the law during the regular session because of the 120-day time limit.
But he says while interim committees have followed the law requiring agendas to be posted three days in advance, it should be codified in law.
