A Carson City man is facing arson charges tonight after allegedly setting his home on fire. Investigators say he was distraught and attempting to take his own life when he lit the fire in a home on the 1400 block of Siskiyou Drive. He escaped, and no one else was injured in the fire.
Smoke began pouring from the home around 6:00 Sunday night. Crews were quick to keep the flames from nearby homes. Siskiyou Drive was closed to through traffic as crews continued mop up hours later.
The fire damaged one house and two other neighboring properties. Investigators say several people who live there, including children, will be displaced.
The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with additional details is asked to call the Carson City Sheriff's Office, or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
