No Duck, Duck, Goose This Weekend

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Ducks and geese in Nevada will get a two day break this week from being hunted.

The Department of Wildlife is reminding hunters that the waterfowl hunting season will close Thursday and Friday, and reopen on Saturday.

Agency officials say the season is limited to 107 days by regulation. Closing it for two days will allow the season to end on a weekend, as requested by hunters.

Seasons will close Jan. 6 in Nevada's northeast hunting zone, and Jan. 27 everywhere else.

Hunters are allowed four birds per day. Waterfowl season includes ducks, geese, mergansers and scaup.

A $10 Nevada state duck stamp is required to hunt most migratory game birds, as is a federal migratory game bird hunting stamp.
