CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - A new Nevada license plate goes on sale Monday, with proceeds benefiting rural airports.

The Nevada Airports Association specialty plate depicts a two-engine plane in one corner, with the slogan "sky is the limit" across the bottom.

Revenue from the plate sales will go into the Nevada Aviation Trust Fund, which is used to provide a required 5 percent local match for Federal Aviation Administration airport improvement grants. The trust fund benefits general aviation airports, excluding Clark County and Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority.

NAA officials say the license plate sales will provide a revenue source for 44 rural airports around the state.

The specialty plates cost an initial $61 and $30 for renewals. Of that, the association will receive $25 from the initial issuance and $20 from each renewal.
