RENO, NV - Have you been anxiously awaiting the opening of the new freeway between Reno and Carson? Your wait is almost over.
NDOT tweeted on Tuesday that the southbound lanes of the new road will open August 24th, and the northbound lanes on August 27th.
Its been weeks since walkers and cyclists were allowed access to the new freeway section including the Galena Creek bridge, and even the Governor joked about the indefinite opening date at the official ribbon cutting earlier in August.
But it appears that by the end of the month, finally, the new freeway will be open to traffic, in both directions.
