CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Gov. Brian Sandoval has unveiled round two of a campaign to promote in-state travel after arriving at a Carson City press conference on a steam locomotive.
Sandoval announced the encore of the Discover Your Nevada campaign Wednesday at the Nevada State Railroad Museum.
The push includes online voting to nominate Nevada "treasures," which are places, events or experiences in the state.
Sandoval also highlighted expanded hours at seven state museums. Schedules had been pared down during the recession, but campaign officials said at least one day has been restored at each location, and all museums are now open at least five days a week.
Admission to the museums will be free on July 6 and July 20.
The initiatives are an effort to boost the recovery of Nevada's tourism industry.
