ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Records show that no dispatchers told Albuquerque police Sgt. Adam Casaus to look out for a drunk driver before his police SUV slammed into a Honda CR-V, killing the vehicle's passenger.
Dispatched records obtained by various media outlets showed that Casaus logged off his last call almost four hours before the accident early Sunday.
Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office previously said that Casaus had turned on his emergency lights and sirens in pursuit of a drunk driver when he struck the CR-V, driven by Lindsay Browder.
She suffered a broken hip and fractured spine. But her passenger, 21-year-old Ashley Browder,member of Air National Guard based out of Reno, Nevada, died at the scene.
Albuquerque Police Chief Ray Schultz declined to comment on the dispatch records.
