FALLON, NV - An NDOT worker is being treated for serious injuries after a crash in Fallon Wednesday morning.

NHP Trooper Chuck Allen says about 9:30, 88-year-old Belle Currie of Fallon was driving along Highway 50 through a construction zone, and tried to turn onto Sheckler Cutoff (Highway 117). She didn't see an SUV driven by 34-year-old Jamie Sweetser of Fernley, and hit the SUV, causing it to roll over. One of the two vehicles hit Michael Spanier of Hawthorne, who was doing traffic control at the intersection; he has been flown to Renown in Reno.

Currie, Sweetser and Sweetser's four passengers were treated for minor injuries at a hospital and released.

The Major Accident Investigation Team was dispatched to investigate the accident. Witnesses or anyone with additional information are encouraged to contact Trooper Chris Kelly at (775) 689-4661 or at ckelly@dps.state.nv.us regarding case number NHP-130801203. Once the investigation is completed, which may take 30 or more days, any and all traffic-related charges will be filed.
