Sparks, NV - A single mother of five is being remembered. Her own mother had to fly from Yuma, Arizona to Reno and take 39-year-old Kimberly Walker Torigoe off of life support. Walker Torigoe was standing in the front of her stalled minivan on Thursday during the afternoon commute at Oddie Boulevard near the 395 on ramp when a truck rear-ended her vehicle. That changed her family's life forever.
"She was just a 100-percent kind, loving soul. And she was amazing. She was truly amazing and now she's gone," says Sheryl Baxter.
Baxter looks at old pictures of Kimmy Walker Torigoe and they're what she wants to remember when she thinks of her daughter, not how she last saw Kimmy - in a coma at Renown.
"I walked into her room and I took a look at her and I knew she was never coming out, I knew that," says Baxter.
It was last Thursday, during the afternoon commute, Kimmy was standing at the front of her stalled minivan off Oddie Boulevard near 395 when a truck crashed into it. Kimmy got trapped underneath as her youngest children, ages 13 and 15, watched.
"This was quick and fast," says Baxter.
Sheryl Baxter flew in from Arizona to Reno to be with her daughter and when she saw how badly she was hurt, she made the most difficult decision of her life. She took Kimmy off of life support on Sunday.
"It's the most painful, horrific experience a parent can go through," says Baxyter. "I don't know how else to describe it."
Now, she is worred about Kimmy's five children - as the rest of the family struggles to understand why this happened to such a bright woman.
"She was actually really quite incredible," says Baxter.
Kimmy's youngest children will be living with their father. The family has set up a donation fund at Bank of America to help out the kids.
Wells Fargo Bank: Kimberly Walker Torigoe Memorial Fund
Account number: 8227193722. The money will go to the three youngest kids and the ex-husband won't have access.

God be with you all in this terrible time. Kimmy is with the angels up above. The little angels she leaves behind are here to carry on her memory. May god help you all to heal and find peace. My heart and tears are with you.
I'm sorry for your loss... Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.. God Bless
My heart goes out to her mother and children. How sad. I also am praying for the driver that hit her I would not want to know I had killed someone even if it wasn't my fault. Don't know all the details of why this driver didn't see the disabled vehicle.
