RENO, NV - A 9-year-old boy allegedly taken from a Maryland school by his mother was found safe in Reno late Thursday night.
Reno police say they were waiting for Wilbert Garcia and his mother, Silvia Garcia, at Reno-Tahoe International Airport after talking with the boy's aunt, who lives in Reno and was expecting a flight from mother and son. The boy's mother, who does not have custodial rights, was taken into custody and is in the Washoe County Jail.
Police and the FBI have made arrangements to reunite the boy with his father.
Police say Sylvia Garcia took Wilbert out of Dodge Park Elementary in Landover Thursday morning.
An Amber Alert was issued for the boy Thursday evening.
