Reno Man Suspected of Raping, Beating Teenage Runaway

A Reno man was arrested Tuesday for the sexual assault and beating of a 13-year-old runaway at a local motel.

RENO, NV - A Reno man was arrested Tuesday for the sexual assault and beating of a 13-year-old runaway at a local motel.

According to police the teenage victim reported in May she met a guy downtown and that he beat and raped her in a motel room in the 300 block of West St.

The investigation led police to 20-year-old Mathew WIlliams Tuesday who admitted to the crime. He is charged with Sexual Assault of a Minor Under 14 years of age and Battery with the Intent to Commit Sexual Assault

His bail is set at $23,000.

Willams admitted to the Sexual Assault and was booked on the listed charges.

His bail was set at $23,000.00.

The investigation is continuing and the Reno Police Department is asking for any other possible victims of sexual assault by this suspect to please contact Detective Doser at 657-4799. Anyone with additional information that would like to remain anonymous can call Secret Witness at 322-4900.
