Man Arrested for Kidnapping, Battering Ex-Girlfriend

SPARKS, NV - One man is in custody after allegedly kidnapping and hitting his ex-girlfriend early Sunday morning.

According to Sparks police, 24-year-old Jesus Gonzales-Barreto approached his ex-girlfriend at Aguita's on Prater Way and forced her to leave. She was put in Gonzales' car and battered. The victim was able to escape momentarily at McCarran and Mira Loma before being forced back into the car by Gonzales.

They arrived at 4500 Mira Loma, where the victim was threatened and battered again before finally escaping and heading to a nearby residence to call police.

Police arrived just after 3:00 a.m. and were able to arrest Gonzales after interviews with the victim.

Gonzales is charged with Second Degree Kidnapping, False Imprisonment, Domestic Battery and Domestic Strangulation.
