When officers arrived, they noticed the victim was missing about three-fourths of his ear, according to an official with the Reno Police Department.
Officials believe the portion of the ear was sliced off when a scooter was used to hit the victim's head.
A 17-year-old was booked into Jan Evans Juvenile Detention Center on the charges of battery, battery causing substantial bodily harm and mayhem, according to an official with the Reno Police Department.
Officials say another suspect is still on the loose.
