RENO, Nev. (AP) - A convicted sex offender has pleaded guilty to battering one woman and then raping a 62-year-old Reno woman after kicking down her door.

Police say the victims lived on the same street and were assaulted within minutes of each other on April 13 by 54-year-old Richard Daniel Sharks Jr.

Sharks pleaded guilty Monday in Washoe District Court to battery with intent to commit sexual assault, burglary and sexual assault of an elderly person. He was scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 5 by Washoe District Court Judge David Hardy.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports Sharks faces a maximum of life in prison on each sex offense.

Sharks is a Tier-3 sex offender, assessed at having the highest risk to commit more sex offenses.
