RENO, Nev. (AP) - The third of four people charged in last year's robbery-related killing of a Reno musician has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Luis Sanchez, 20, was sentenced Friday by Washoe District Judge Patrick Flanagan for the May 2011 killing of Steven Gale, who was shot during a scuffle over a friend's purse.
Sanchez earlier pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
His brother Jacob was convicted by a jury and sentenced to life in prison without parole. Another defendant, 13-year-old Jose Cruz, pleaded guilty and also was sentenced to life.
Authorities say Jacob Sanchez and his girlfriend Aurora Rodriguez-Perez hatched the robbery plot because they needed money for rent and bills. She has pleaded guilty but has not yet been sentenced.
