RENO, NV - One man was killed after being hit by a car Thursday night. According to Reno Police, the 60-year-old man was hit at the intersection of Oddie and Sutro about 6:15pm. Police don’t know if the man was in the crosswalk, but they suspect alcohol may have been a factor.
During the investigation, officers learned the man was crossing on the east side of the intersection when he was struck by an eastbound car, which hurled him a considerable distance. He was transported to a local hospital where he died.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and did not appear to have been impaired. The Reno Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to the scene and is continuing to investigate the crash. The identities of both men are being withheld at this time.
