FERNLEY, NV - A man from Reno was crushed to death Tuesday in an accident involving a forklift.
Acting Lt. Johnny Smith with the Lyon County Sheriff's Office tells KOLO 8 News Now about noon, the man was at the Amazon warehouse in Fernley picking up a rental forklift that weights about six tons. He had loaded it onto a flatbed truck, then started to lower the flatbed before securing the forklift, which leaned and fell onto him.
Smith says based on evidence and witness statements, the death has already been ruled an accident and no foul play is suspected.
The man's name hasn't been released. He was not an Amazon employee.
