GARDNERVILLE, NV - Residents and outdoor enthusiasts are being asked to stay away from the Preacher Mine Fire's burn area.
KOLO 8 News Now received the request from Douglas County on behalf of the Sierra Front Fire Interagency.
They say curious citizens and off-roaders have been driving through the area where the fire burned last week, causing problems for the fire mop-up crews still in the area.
Some smoldering hot spots still remain in the area, and hand crews will be operating in the area for several more days extinguishing them.
