SPARKS, NV - The lockdown is over at Spanish Springs High School and Shaw Elementary School.
Washoe County sheriff's deputies were looking for a man with a gun in the area Monday afternoon, based on a report by a school bus driver that he saw the man at a house near the school. The RAVEN helicopter helped with the search, which ended when nothing suspicious was found after more than an hour of searching.
School was already out for the day at both schools, but staffers and students still there weren't allowed to come or go at the high school. The code yellow lockdown at Shaw was precautionary.
