Local Students Get Help with College Costs

RENO, Nev. -- Thousands of local students who need financial help getting into and staying in college are about to get a boost.

Today the Gear Up Program received a $21-million grant.

In the past 11 years, Gear Up has helped more than 4,000 low-income students graduate high school and pursue their academic goals.

This latest financial boost is expected to help another 5,000 students over the next seven years.
