RENO, Nev. -- Southwest Airlines passengers headed to Reno, some delayed for hours from a computer glitch, were making their way home Friday night. A glitch has been fixed, according to the airline.

The airline announced the initial problem and subsequent repair via Twitter.

According to the airline's Twitter feed, "A system outage has caused us to hold departing flights. Flights in the air are not affected by this. All hands on deck to resolve." The statement was tweeted at 9:18 Friday evening.

A KOLO 8 News Now viewer in Los Angeles posted on our Facebook page that the problem had been going on since before 8pm. And another viewer, stuck in Las Vegas, said she was told the same thing.

At 11:09pm the airline then tweeted, "Update: Systems are operating and we will begin work to get Customers where they need to be. Thanks for your patience tonight."
