RENO, Nev. - A Nevada-based contractor will be remodeling John Ascuaga’s Nugget Casino Resort in February for a $50 million property-wide renovation program. The property will remain open to the public during the construction.
PENTA Building Group will use conceptual designs created by the architecture and design firm Cuningham Group Architecture Inc. as their guide for the project. This includes remodeling the Nugget’s casino floor, hotel rooms, restaurants, entertainment venues, building exterior and general public spaces.
“We have major renovation plans for the Nugget,” said Nugget President and CEO Carlton Geer. “PENTA Building Group understands our vision for what we want this property to become and will work closely with the Cuningham Group and the Nugget team to create a fun-filled, entertaining and value-oriented ‘escape from the ordinary’ for locals and tourists alike.”
PENTA also remodeled the East Tower hotel rooms of the Nugget in 2007. The new major renovations will help the Nugget to strategically reposition itself in the Northern Nevada gaming market, redefine its value proposition and bring renewed energy and excitement to the resort.
Project Executive for PENTA Bryan Richards says, “We are ecstatic that we were selected to join the team that will transform this iconic property.”
PENTA Building Group is a nationally recognized general contractor with offices in Reno, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Palm Desert and Tulsa.
