RENO, NV.--There are several events planned around Reno honoring and remembering the late Martin Luther King Jr.

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada is honoring Martin Luther King's National Day of Service by offering three volunteer sessions. Those volunteer sessions at the Food Bank of Northern Nevada are 9am-noon, 1pm-4pm and 5:30pm-8pm.

Also, Rt. Rev Dan Edwards of Las Vegas, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Nevada and members of St. Catherine of Siena Episcopal Church in South Reno will visit families at the Record Street Family Homeless Shelter and help families put new Crock-pots to good use.

The 15th annual Community Memorial Caravan will leave Reno's Second Baptist Church at 10:30am. Participants will drive a portion of the Martin Luther King Jr. Highway (I-580) to honor King. The caravan will leave the church and drive to Stead Blvd. There will be a reception held after. This is free and open to the public. Reno's Second Baptist Church is located on Montello Street.
