RENO, Nev. (AP) - A flotilla of rubber ducks on the Truckee River helped raise $60,000 for the Nevada Humane Society to help care for homeless pets and find them homes.
The Aug. 26 event in downtown Reno's Wingfield Park Reno drew several thousand people who came out to cheer the 15,000 rubber ducks.
Humane Society officials say money was raised through duck adoptions, sponsorships and other festival activities.
