RENO, Nev. -- Grassroots Books hosted a free e-waste disposal event in Reno Saturday, June 22nd. Organizers say the event was a success with everything from computers and stereos to a soda vending machine.

The book store teamed up with local company Go Junk Removal to recycle the items. Plans are already in the works for a second such event.

Go Junk Removal founder Tim Doss said in a statement, "People love moving stuff along and knowing that it's going to get 100 percent recycled through Go Junk Removal aka Junk Mob."

Geoff McFarland with Grassroots Books reported Saturday's event had a great turn-out with the following totals:
34 pallets of equipment & electronics
9 refrigerators
3 ovens
5 lawnmowers
Over 2 miles of electric cord
1 Coca Cola brand vending machine
