RENO, Nev. -- Federal fire crews are working to put out several fires presumably started by lightning strikes in and around the Tahoe Basin.

Officials report Saturday afternoon there were at least four small fires in the Tahoe Basin and one on the El Dorado side.

One helicopter was making bucket runs from Lake Tahoe near Tahoma to the mountains west of there.

As of Saturday afternoon just before 2pm, none of the fires was larger than a few acres in size.
