Two Lemmon Valley residents suffered minor injuries after they confronted a man who broke into their home in the 400 block of Ohio Street Friday night.

According to the Washoe County Sheriff's Department, the victim called deputies at 8:41 p.m. saying she and her husband had heard a loud noise at their door just before they fell asleep. According to the victim, they both went to see what it was when they were confronted by the suspect, who had forced his way in through a secured door. The victims engaged in a physical fight with the suspect, causing minor injuries to the homeowners.

The suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived. Attempts to locate the suspect using K-9 teams were unsuccessful.

The victim's have described the suspect as a white male adult possibly in his 30s, 6'1" with a slender build, shoulder length blonde hair and a mustache. He was wearing a Carhartt style jacket and blue jeans.

The Sheriff's Office believes this house was targeted as a vacant property. They are encouraging the public to leave a light on in their homes to make it appear that someone is home, and also look into extra locking devices for their doors and windows.

Sheriff's Office Detectives encourage anyone with information regarding the suspect to call 775-328-3327 or provide information anonymously by calling Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
