A consignment sale at the Reno Sparks Livestock Event Center is attracting families with many items and low prices.
It's that time of year again when soon to be moms, moms, grandma's and even some dads shopped at a pre sale event put on by "Just Between Friends."
Baby and toddler things that usually cost quite a bit of money are being sold for a fraction of the price.
The consignment sale is a great place for couples like Hezekiah and Jillian Cole. They're getting ready to welcome their first child into the world. Even though Jillian's due date is still about six weeks away, they want to make sure they're ready.
"I don't know if there is such a thing as enough stuff or too much, it is amazing how much stuff one little person needs though," says the couple.
The Coles are doing some last minute shopping at Northern Nevada's largest seasonal consignment sale, put on by "Just Between Friends." Couples can browse through a showroom of everything they need including clothes, cribs, strollers, and toys.
"You're finding things up to 90 percent off the regular retail price, and I like that we're getting things that have been used before so it's a little bit green also," says Jillian Cole.
The events organizer is really pleased with this year's merchandise for sale.
"It's just a great way to go through your house and get rid of things you don't need anymore," says Sarah Fierro.
Fierro says the consignment sale is a great way for families to recycle gently used items.
"They get the items they want to sale and they price those items using our online bar coding system," says Fierro.
Families then bring the items down a few days before the sale. If the items sell, they will get a check in the mail for 65 percent of their priced item. If the items aren't sold, families can pick up the items or donate them to charity.
Doors open up Friday at 9 am. For a list of the complete schedule, a coupon to print for Friday's event, you can visit their website we have listed under "Hot Topics."
