Jodee Prudente Wins Teacher of the Year Award

RENO, NV - Jodee Prudente is the winner of the 2014 Keyser Foundation WCSD Teacher of the Year Award.

An official with the Washoe County School District (WCSD) says Prudente teaches special education and comprehensive life skills at Kendyl Depoali Middle School in Reno. She previously taught in the WCSD for 11 years.

The Keyser Foundation WCSD Teacher of the Year Award recognizes a teacher for their dedication, kill and knowledge and who inspires students.

Two other teachers, Ryan Brock of Jessie Beck Elementary School and Sarah Hopper of Washoe Innovations High School, were recognized as finalists for the award, according to an official with the WCSD.

Brock and Hopper won $3,000 for being finalists; Prudente won $6,000 for winning the award, according to an official with the WCSD.
