SANTA ROSA, Calif. (AP) - The mother of kidnap victim Jaycee Dugard says she bears an "overwhelming sadness and incredible anger" over "18 hellish years" of separation from her daughter.

The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports Terry Probyn recounted her ordeal at a Sonoma County Crime Victim's Rights Week event Tuesday.

The 53-year-old Probyn was reunited with her daughter in August 2009, 18 years after Dugard was kidnapped by Phillip and Nancy Garrido in South Lake Tahoe in 1991.

Probyn now lives with her daughter and the two teenage granddaughters born when Dugard was held captive in the Garrido's backyard in Antioch.

She says the 32-year-old Dugard is focused on raising her daughters and has no plans to make public appearances.

Probyn says unlike other crime victims she had a "happy ever after" outcome.
