INCLINE VILLAGE, NV - Incline Village General Improvement District (IVGID) has been awarded the “Best Tasting Water in Nevada” title for the second year in a row.
That's according to a blind taste test done by the Nevada Rural Water Association at its organization’s annual conference in March, IVGID took first place over 12 other rural Nevada communities. The community’s water now moves on to compete against 47 other state winners at the National Rural Water Association (NRWA) conference later this year.
Last year's national winner was Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin.
The “Best Tasting Drinking Water” is determined by NvRWA’s panel of judges, who rate the water’s clarity, bouquet and purity. Water came directly from an Incline Village tap fromLake Tahoe.
The NvRWA, an affiliate of the non-profit NRWA, represents rural water agencies throughout Nevada and specializes in on-site technical assistance and training for rural water and wastewater systems. Since the founding of the NRWA in 1976, the NvRWA hosts an annual conference to address local water and wastewater issues while also recognizing agencies and people in the industry.
