RENO, Nev. (AP) - A 23-year-old man arrested in connection with the hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a television sports anchor in Reno has been released from the Washoe County jail on $10,000 bail.
Ryan Rhea of Sparks was charged on Sunday with one felony count
of hit-and-run causing the death of JK Metzker, sports director of CBS affiliate KTVN Channel 2.
Police say Metzker was hit while crossing a street near 17th and Virginia Streets late Saturday night after the Nevada-Hawaii football game.
Rhea moved to Reno from Carmichael, Calif., after serving in Iraq with the Army's 82nd Airborne. His mother, Christine Borovac, said on Monday that Rhea has been going to college while living with his father in Sparks.
