Great Basin Brewing Company has brewed up another innovative idea: Icky Bread. The restaurant has been serving the bread at its Sparks and Reno locations for a few months now, but you couldn't buy a loaf of the bread until now.
This bread may taste unlike anything you've ever eaten before, but it may taste like something you may have sipped. It's got the Icky IPA in it. And local honey from a Hidden Valley farm.
Brewmaster Tom Young said he went through several recipes before finding the right one for the perfect loaf. The Icky Bread is for sale at Great Basin Brewing Company's restaurants for $4 a loaf.
Young says the beer adds to the chewiness and density of the bread. It's got a wholesome taste that's full of fiber.
The Icky Bread comes not long after the brewery started bottling its popular Icky India Pale Ale into six-packs and selling them at local stores. The Icky is the brew ordered most at the brewery.
