RENO, NV - Hundreds of people are now working after a new Wal Mart opened in Lemmon Valley Wednesday. Two-hundred-fifty work at the store; roughly half are full-time.

Shoppers said they like the low prices at the store, and the selection. However, several said they are concerned about the affect of the retail giant on other businesses. "We don't have a lot of small businesses up here, I kind of feel sorry for Raley's, Scolari's and Smith's," one shopper said.

The new store comes as Lambertson Industries announced plans to grow its business. The stainless steel company, located at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, is expanding.

The company said it plans to hire fifty to sixty people during the next five years.
