RENO, NV - With many more passengers than usual anticipated to travel through Reno-Tahoe International, there were few delays, cancelled flights or long lines Wednesday.
"Where's the crowd? There are none," Michael Cooper, a passenger, said.
"It's been nice not crowded at all so far," Angela Anderson said.
Airport spokeswoman Heidi Jared said during the busy holiday travel season, those flying should show up to the airport early. Jared suggested ninety minutes early for domestic flights, and two hours early for international ones. She also said security may open wrapped gifts, and advises passengers to wrap gifts after getting to their destinations.
Passengers arriving in Reno will also contend with a baggage area being renovated. Jared said the renovation will last several months. She said it will bring "some beautiful enhancements" to the area. Signs show passengers an alternate path to retrieve their luggage.
