Historic Tahoe Queen Was Wind-Delayed in Carnelian Bay

CARNELIAN BAY, Calif. -- The Tahoe Queen was stuck in Carnelian Bay for hours Sunday. Zephyr Cove Park officials tell KOLO 8 News Now that the historic boat did not run aground but was just waiting for the winds to die down.

A Placer County Sheriff's official says the boat pulled into Carnelian Bay around 11am to drop off some bicyclists who were on board. Zephyr Cove Park officials confirmed it got assistance out of the bay and was heading back to the marina before 2:10pm.

Witness say the boat appeared to be beached, but officials say it did not run aground. People in the area report winds were very strong at the time.
