Hiker, Tree Trimmer Hospitalized After Separate Accidents

DOUGLAS COUNTY, NV - A professional tree trimmer is being treated for serious injuries after a 50-foot fall from a tree Friday afternoon.

Douglas County emergency crews were called to Zephyr Cove, where the man slipped while high up in the tree in the Cedar Brook area. He was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center by a CalStar helicopter.

About the same time, Douglas crews rescued a hiker who had been traversing the Flume Trail near Marlette Lake and fell 10-15 feet down an embankment. She was taken by ground ambulance to a hospital with what a fire spokesman refers to as non-life-threatening injuries.
