RENO, NV - Reno police say in a month long heroin trafficking investigation, they were able to confiscate nearly 2 pounds of heroin and more than $10,000 cash over a three day period. They also arrested five people.
On August 22nd, detectives say they watched one suspect sell narcotics over near 1st and Keysone Avenue. After a traffic stop, they found 299 balloons of heroin, which weighed 50.3 grams.
On August 23rd, detectives saw another heroin sale on Sue Way. in Sparks. They watched a man leave the home, and after a traffic stop, they found 328 heroin balloons, weighing 53.1 grams, in the vehicle. Police say inside his home, they found an 83.8 gram ball of pre-ballooned heroin. $1,610.00 was seized from his home.
On August 24th. They searched another car and found 36 heroin balloons, weighing 7 grams. $955.00 associated to heroin sales was seized. Officers also searched another home on Bozic Lane and found a bag containing 97 grams of powder heroin and a 7.5 gram chunk of heroin. Detectives found an additional 506.2 gram chunk of heroin in a parked car's air filter and ventilation system. Later, a third home was searched, and $3,070.00 associated to heroin sales was seized.
The independent three day operation resulted in a total of five arrests, 808.9 grams of heroin and $10,177.00 cash seized.
The 808.9 grams of heroin has a potential street value of more than $60,000.
Police arrested Antonio Lopez-Zermino for 4 counts possession of a controlled substance, and sales of a controlled substance.
Rigoberto Gomez-Marquez was arrested for sales of a controlled substances, possession of a controlled substance, and a stop sign violation
Servando Lopez-Ulloa was arrested for sales of a controlled substance, a driver's license violation, and careless driving.
Hector Rodriguez-Carranza was arrested for sales of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales, and Possession of a controlled substance.
Luis Angel Enrique Carranza was arrested for trafficking possession of controlled substance , possession of controlled substance for sales, sales of a controlled substance, a driver's license violation, and speeding.
