RENO, Nev. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a female bank robber who eluded police for more than two months during a series of holdups in Reno was arrested after power line workers allegedly spotted her ditching her clothes in some bushes following one of the robberies.
A U.S. magistrate judge ordered 29-year-old Erica Leigh Morrison held without bail in the Washoe County jail and set a preliminary hearing for Aug. 29 on a single felony charge of bank robbery. Prosecutors said additional charges could follow stemming from what they say was a series of at least six robberies beginning in June.
FBI agents eventually tracked her down with DNA evidence obtained from some clothing she's accused of disposing of after the first robbery on June 10 at the Nevada State Bank in downtown Reno
