RENO, NV - A nearly three-million dollar grant holds the promise of putting hundreds to work in Reno. The grant from the Economic Development Administration will fund infrastructure and other road improvements near the Desert Research Institute. It's hoped the grant will lead to high-tech businesses coming to the area, and which would then hire hundreds.

328 acres offer private businesses close access to TMCC for workforce training. It's also near rare laboratories at the Desert Research Institute. One such lab offers a three-dimensional emersion.

"Biomedical, it could be construction, it could be engineering, whatever you could model, you could be in that model," DRI President Stephen Wells said.

"It's a win, win, win situation for them to come here and this recipe has worked around the nation," Wells added.
